Welcome to the Emslie Group Website
Inorganic and Organometallic Synthesis - Actinide, Lanthanide and Transition Metal Complexes, Borane-Functionalized Complexes, Silylene and Silene Complexes, and Metal ALD Precursors and Reactivity
New Ligand Design and Synthesis - Rigid Pincer Ligands and Ambiphilic Ligands
Reactivity and Catalysis - Stoichiometric and Catalytic Organometallic Reactivity, Cooperative Substrate Activation, Metal Film Deposition by ALD
Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) - Precursor Design and Synthesis, Solution Reactivity Studies, ALD Reactor Studies
The Emslie group's research is focused on synthetic inorganic chemistry and ALD. Most of this includes the synthesis of new highly reactive metal complexes, unique ligands (the majority of the pincer and ambiphilic ligands in our research are of our own design), and reactivity studies.
Our Research Focus:
Electropositive Metal Complexes of Extremely Rigid Pincer Ligands
All pincer ligands employed in this research are of our own design
Group 13 Lewis Acid Appended Transition Metal Complexes: Studies of Metal-Ligand Bonding and Cooperative Catalysis
Exploring the reactivity of FcPPB, and related ligands bearing different Lewis acidic groups
New Organometallic Precursors and Reactivity for Metal ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition)
Our ALD research is focused on the development and study of new organometallic precursors and reactivity for metal ALD
