The Emslie group is a synthetic inorganic chemistry group, so the major focus (80-100%) of all projects is molecular synthesis. This includes the synthesis of new metal complexes (mostly extremely air sensitive chemistry) and unique new ligands (all of the pincer and ambiphilic ligands in our research are of our own design).
